CCL quality SARS-CoV-2 service now accredited to ISO 15189

Cambridge Clinical Laboratories (CCL) is delighted to have successfully added its SARS-CoV-2 service (using the Primerdesign Ltd Genesig Assay) to its UKAS accreditation – ISO 15189 - the international Quality standard for medical laboratory testing.

2020 was a year of huge demand for Cambridge Clinical Laboratories. In the height of the pandemic CCL’s team doubled, and they were processing the equivalent of four months (pre pandemic) testing every week. 

Mike Morel, Clinical Laboratory Manager, said: “We are delighted to achieve this accreditation and are preparing to add and extend our services further to support the Covid-19 response.

“ISO 15189 is the standard for medical laboratories covering everything from the assay and customer service to staff facilities. Achieving this gives all our customers reassurance that the CCL SARS-CoV-2 service is of the highest quality.”
